Froggie’s Best Chocolate Chip Cookies
1 c butter flavored shortening
1 c butter
2 c brown sugar
1 c white sugar
4 eggs
1 Tbsp vanilla
2 tsp salt
2 tsp baking soda
4 ½ c flour
1 bag semi sweet chocolate chips
1 small (Hershey’s or Symphony)milk chocolate bar, chilled
nuts if desired
Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Cream together shortening, butter and sugars until light and fluffy. Add eggs and vanilla. Mix salt, soda and flour together and add to shortening mixture. Add chips and nuts. Using knife or potato peeler, curl the chocolate bar and add to dough. Bake 8 minutes. Cookies will stay soft for 5-7 days if kept in air-tight container.
