I guess I am getting pretty regular with this weekly blog entry. Regular is good, at least from my book of life.
On Tuesday we fought with the insurance claims adjuster because he informed us our SUV was totalled and then lowballed us for the value. RIP my lovely Ford Explorer Ltd. Jeff talked him up another $1200 but we still feel it is low and are going to be severely financial-challenged in getting a new vehicle as I don’t want to go into a single cent into debt with a replacement car.
On Thursday we attended Justin’s choral concert. He did a great job! He is in both the regular concert chorale and a special SATB eighth grade choral that has eight singers in it. I really like his choir director. She always chooses these exotic (from different countries) music so the students get a real exposure to various types of music. So we get african chant music and irish folk music. It is very fun to go to their concerts because of this. They also had these very cool balloon decorations. I had to take a picture of them.
After the concert I went down to Timp hospital and visited some friends whose son had put on a fentanyl patch last Saturday night and they found him Sunday afternoon unconscious and unresponsive. He is 23 years old and is in a coma. As of this writing, he has yet to awake. The doctors say he has significant brain damage. It is a heartbreaking situation, and my heart goes out to the family.
Chance and his friends decided to spend this upcoming spring break week in La Verkin with their other friend. So they packed up and headed out today. Heaven help La Verkin with this pack of boys running around it.
We decided to meander on down to Goblin Valley as it was a beautiful day, 70 degree weather. So Jeff, Kayla, Justin, Quinn and I hopped into the rental pickup and headed down. Goblin Valley is one of my favorite Utah places to visit. It is just so unique! I highly recommend it for anyone anywhere near southern Utah area.
