I was waiting for the professional pictures to come back, but it is taking too long. 😉
Three days before prom, Kayla woke up with budding cold sores. In panic, we went to the store for something to treat these monsters before they ruined prom. Boy, did I get some interesting home-spun advice for treating cold sores before the week was out! For instance, the cashier at the store told us if we put just regular deodorant on a cold sore just as it was emerging, the chemicals in the deodorant would draw out and dry up the cold sore. Another was from a friend who said to take a match, light it, blow it out, and then rub the blown-out match on the cold sore area.
We settled with the expensive 3-day treatment. Next time, we’re trying all of the other remedies.
Kayla went with Aaron Wilson and three other couples. One of the other guys was the son of Scott Hancock who does professional photography, so all of the couples got their pictures professionally done at no cost. How sweet is that?
Kayla looked like a princess. It took us a while to find a dress, but she finally settled on one that was of acceptable color (blue is her favorite, this dress is aqua), and was full-skirted and really accentuated her tiny body and waist. The dress is a Quinceanera. It is strapless and I really love the corset tieback in the back. We were originally going to put her hair up, but she decided at the last minute that the dark color of the hair really looked good next to the dress. So here she is! I’ll add the pro pics when we get them.
