This is a quick catchup post.
School is out for summer! Yeah! Justin is looking forward to catching up on the math he fell behind on, and getting somewhat of a break from school. He is our only child left and will be in 10th grade this upcoming year.
Kayla graduated last Thursday from Lone Peak High School. Pictures are forthcoming. She will be attending Dixie in the Fall. She is quite excited. Her graduating class of 640 was quite impressive. 35 of them made a 30+ on the ACT, and there were $5.5 million dollars in scholarship funds awarded to the class. Wow.
I spent the weekend with my women’s book club at a cabin retreat in Fairview. It was awesome fun! I just love these women. We golfed and 4-wheeled and hot-tubbed and walked and grilled and laughed generally enjoyed the wonderful necessary break women need every so once in a while to replenish their soul. It doesn’t hurt at all that these women are lively, extraordinarily intelligent, and very charming. I will not soon forget our little “mule” ride with Hidee, Julie, Becky and I as we tumbled up and down the mountain about 50 mph with Becky screaming “we’re all going to die! whilst Jules was hanging out the back seat in a nearly perpendicular position trying to catch plants in her hand. She grabbed this giant 3 foot weed thingey and exclaimed “it’s a baby!” We found a really really hot spring, so hot you couldn’t put your feet in the water.
Our book this month was Many Lives, Many Masters by Dr. John Weiss. It was a super interesting book about reincarnation. It was super interesting to me anyway, because this has been my first foray into reincarnation thought. We had some interesting discussion about it. I have decided to add book club reviews onto my Book list page for the future. Next month’s book…………The Life of Pi. Read it with us if you’d like!
