This time in our backyard, we headed up Provo canyon and up to Squaw Peak. I had initially wanted to go up Big Cottonwood Canyon to Lake Blanche, but yesterday both Jeff and I had the return of the sore throat and congestion so we chose a much shorter trail. We didn’t go to the top of Squaw Peak, we went on this summit just above it and looked down on it. The color is turning and I am looking forward to going up the canyons the next few weekends when everything will be ablaze with color.
I have no idea what these plants are called but they have already lost their color and are dying. As the wind swept through them they made a crackling sound. I love it.
The ridgelines on the backside of Y mountain are extraordinary.
