Courtesy of my insomnia, here is my Thanksgiving meal I will be serving today in nearly its entirety.  The only dinner items I add to these recipes are corn, gravy (made from the drippings of the turkey), rolls, fresh cranberry sauce, and pumpkin pie.

This year, the beverages with this meal are grape juice and ice water garnished w/lemon wedge.

Thanksgiving cooking tip:  Never buy cranberries out of a can!  Freshly cooked cranberry sauce is much better tasting and fun to prepare.  I always let the kids do it.  It is easy.  1 c water, 1 c sugar.  Allow to boil and then add 12 oz bag of fresh cranberries until it boils again.  Turn down to medium high and let the children watch.  The cranberries “pop!” as they cook.  After 10 minutes remove from heat, take a fork and mash the cranberries until they are a gelatin consistency.  Pour into a plastic container and let cool in the fridge until dinner is served.
